“THE TARTAN EMBLEM OF QUEENSLAND”
As the sunshine state Queensland’s lifestyle is bright and
colourful as is the tartan. So, to get this Spirit of Queensland
Tartan you may wear the cloth and enjoy the feeling of the warmth
and style in the cool of winter months.
Being a state tartan anyone, be they a Scot or otherwise, may wear
in comfort and at the same time make a great fashion statement.
For friends overseas a gift of a scarf or tie would no doubt bring
them back in their mind to home and feel the Pride of Queensland
Tartan.
The tartan consists of three tones or shades,
Dress, which is the brightest,
Hunting is medium and
Muted is the quietest of the three.
The Hunting is woven in 13 ounce (mainly for kilts) and 10 ounce
in twill weave with the 8 ounce in plain weave. The Dress is in
10 ounce twill and the 8 ounce is a plain weave, the Muted is similar
in 8 ounce plain weave.
Accessories
fabricated in the three tartans of 10 and 8 ounce are gentlemen’s
ties, bow ties, scarves, sashes, country caps and ladies and gents
sun visors.
All tartan cloth is woven in Victoria from pure Australian wool
and the accessories are fabricated in Brisbane to produce a pure
Australian quality product for all to wear.
